Welcome to the 2014-2015 Kindergarten School Year!

Dear Families,

It has been a great start to the school year.  I enjoyed meeting everyone before the first day, and it made for a smooth transition on Wednesday.  We had a fantastic week!  This group of children have made lots of connections, created things for each other, and have showed how compassionate and caring they are.

We spent time getting to know each other, creating our hopes and dreams, and creating classroom rules. Their hopes and dreams will be posted in our classroom along with our two rules.  The rules they came up with are; Be Safe and Be Respectful.  We shared lots of example of people being safe and respectful in our classroom this week.

Next week,  we will begin our Totally Terrific Child share day.  Each student will have a special day to share their pictures and time lines.  Our class will create a book for each child.  This will happen over the month of September.

Below you will find some great creations from our math center time.  Children explored with three different math manipulative's.  At the end of each session we took a museum tour.  The second day was fun because we had music and someone served pretend cake during our tour.

Enjoy....
